Pistons would need one win in their last three games or one Washington loss in their last four to clinch. Conveniently, the two face each other tomorrow night in Auburn Hills.
Now, the Pistons are also just one half game back of Indiana for the 7th spot but I believe Indiana has the tie breaker over theme. So, still possible but tougher. Kind of depends on what Miami and Cleveland roll out on the floor in Detroit’s last two games in the way of a lineup. Are they resting guys? Cleveland is just about locked into the 1 seed but Miami is just a half game behind Boston for the 4 seed, which would mean the difference between having home court or not in the first round matchup between the two, so it would seem they’d still be very motivated to play guys against Detroit (they’re also only a half game ahead of 6 seed Charlotte at the moment).
