That guy has had a ROUGH year after taking over for Bobby Hurley. He lost his star Justin Moss before the season due to off court incidents. He had former DCD guard Mory Diane transfer out after also being part of that and Raheem Johnson, a third involved figure, served out his suspension and then broke his foot, missing the season. His wife was diagnosed with lymphoma and so he’s been dealing with that, which certainly makes the basketball stuff pale by comparison.
That’s a hell of a thing for him to accomplish, given the circumstances. I thought he was a really good young coach when he was at Romulus and now you have to wonder if he’s a name to keep an eye on down the line. This is a good way to kick that process off, that’s for sure.
