Wisconsin @ Northwestern – Is there such a thing as an NCAA elimination game in the second week in January? For these two, it might actually be the case, as neither can be seen as likely participants at the moment. Northwestern rebounded from getting run by Maryland to go on the road and run Minnesota on the road. Wisconsin suffered a heartbreaker at Kohl to Maryland. Wisconsin isn’t without some talent obviously, but as a whole, it’s difficult to believe in that team on the road against anybody right now. I think it’ll be a competitive game, but I think the Cats find a way.

Minnesota @ Nebraska – Bottom Feeders collide! Actually, the Huskers can feel better about themselves after having wrecked Rutgers in a road game, while Minnesota’s season just continues to fall apart. Miles’ bunch is hardly a powerhouse but at home against a Gopher team which doesn’t know which way is up, I’m picking Nebraska.

Maryland @ Michigan – Definitely the game of the night. For the Terps, it’s another challenging road test. How challenging may depend in large part upon whether Caris Levert suits up for the Wolverines. There’s been chatter over the weekend that he’s likely to play. If he can, that improves Michigan’s chances considerably. Having to deal with Maryland’s big kids is going to be a huge hurdle for the Wolverines but on the flipside, Maryland is going to have to tighten it up defensively. They’ve been pretty solid thus far but Michigan creates issues with their deep shooting that most opponents don’t. I have a feeling about this one…I think it’ll be tight but I think Michigan gets it done and pulls off the mild upset.

Rutgers @ Ohio State – No better cure for getting your ass whipped than to see the Scarlet Knights come to town. OSU will probably struggle a lot to score, even against RU, but they’ll still win comfortably because their own defense is pretty decent and should shut the Knights down.

Penn State @ Purdue – The Nits actually have the length to battle PU’s big men for awhile if a guy like Moore shows up the way he did today. However, the game will be about more than that. At home, hard to pick against the Boilers, especially coming off a loss.

Iowa @ Michigan State – Details to come later in the week.

Ohio State @ Maryland – Both teams can throw a lot of size out there, but one group has veterans and a lot of offensive skill, and is directed by perhaps the best point guard in the country. The other is young, struggles to make shots and has no obvious answer at the lead guard spot just yet. Maryland, and likely by a fair margin.

IU @ Minnesota – The Hoosiers have benefitted from an easy early schedule and it continues in this game. Yes, as Purdue found out tonight, any Big Ten road game presents a challenge and historically, Williams Arena is a tough building to play in. However, this Minnesota team is really bad defensively and that probably means IU will go crazy on the scoreboard again. Hard to imagine the Hoosiers kicking this one away.

Nebraska @ Illinois – Did the Illini find something today in beating Purdue? Probably not in a major way but with Nunn and Hill clicking, they’ve got enough firepower to take out Nebraska in C/U.

Penn State @ Northwestern – A must win for NU if they’re to continue to entertain NCAA dreams. This should be a high effort game both ways but I think the Cats get another victory.

Michigan State @ Wisconsin – Preview to come later in the week.

Michigan @ Iowa – Last of a rough three game stretch for the Wolvies. I go straight home team in this game…I think they’re fairly evenly matched on a neutral court but in Iowa City, I think the Hawks will get it done.
