succeeds Bobby Hurley, who just took the Arizona State gig. Oats was an assistant there for two years after a great run at Romulus High, where he consistently had one of the top programs in Michigan for a number of years, sometimes without top tier talent (though his last team, with Wes Clark and EC Matthews, was an exception to that), getting to at least the A semifinals 5 times in 11 seasons.

I’ll bet he succeeds there. Loved the toughness his teams at Romulus played with and he’s a guy who’s style will play in the areas he’ll need to recruit.
